There’s a lot of truth in this column: Gen Z and millennials are changing the rules on voting expectations — and the political landscape.

The younger voters of today (Millennials and Gen Z) will be the dominant voting group of tomorrow, and they are voting 2:1 for Democrats, not Republicans. This is bad news for the GOP.

The other bad news for the GOP is that the two fastest growing demographic groups in America are Hispanics and Asians, and they are also voting 2:1 for Democrats.

I’ve been saying this for years, but no one in the leadership of the Republican Party seems to get it. The GOP must become more mainstream in its approach to politics and policy if it wants to appeal to these younger voters and the changing face of America.

Otherwise, the party will continue to struggle, especially in national elections and statewide elections in all but the most red states.
