Bolling: Elected School Boards Would Result in Politicization of the Educational Process

To my friends in Hanover County, pleased do not be duped into believing that elected School Boards are a good thing: Virginia NAACP leading effort to have elected school boards | Education | richmond.com [1].

Hanover County currently has an appointed School Board and that has served our county well for a long time. Elected School Boards, made up of politicians who will promise the world to get elected, and then cannot deliver because the Board of Supervisors still controls funding, only create false expectations among citizens. Elected School Boards only result in a greater politicization of the educational process, and that is one thing that we absolutely do not need.

What we have is working. There is no need to change.
