Delegate Nick Freitas just announced that he will move into the Open Seat in the 62nd which is largely Culpeper and Greene Counties.
Delegate Michael Webert will be running in the now Fauquier-based 61st district currently represented by Del. Freitas.
Delegate Dave LaRock is rumored to be considering NOT a run for the Senate but a run in the new 31st House district which is currently represented by Delegate Wendy Gooditis.
Those moves will create an Open District for the 30th and several candidates are lining up for that one including Mike Clancy, a recent candidate for Congress in the 10th CD.
What’s unknown still is the Senate District nomination for the GOP in which Geary Higgins has expressed an interest in that seat currently represented by Senator Jill Vogel who apparently has been visiting parts of the state which usually signal a statewide run.
