Day 3: The January 6 Hearing Today at 1pm ET

There have been record audiences tuning in for the first two hearings of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol.

Wednesday’s hearing was postponed due to technical issues as the committee’s staff works to put together constantly incoming information.

Today’s hearing will take place at 1:00pm ET with these themes:

-Theory that Vice President Mike Pence could reject electors

-How Trump led Pence pressure campaign

-How pressure campaign contributed to Jan. 6 violence

-Ongoing threat to democracy

Today’s scheduled witnesses:

-Greg Jacob, former chief counsel to VP Pence

-J. Michael Luttig, former federal judge who advised VP Pence

Unlike past hearings that have seen Congressional members grandstanding for the cameras, the January 6 Select Committee has conducted itself professionally in a “just the facts, ma’m” manner (with a nod to Dragnet’s Sgt. Joe Friday).
