Virginia GOP Decides on Congressional Candidates

The Virginia GOP held nomination methods over the weekend to choose their candidates for the November elections.

Congressional District 10

As reported by senior contributor Stephen Spiker here at Bearing Drift [1], the 10th District nominee is Hung Cao who won in a firehouse primary that brought out over 15,000 voters. (Spiker’s reporting included excellent analysis of the race.)

He will face Democratic incumbent Rep. Jennifer Wexton.

Congressional District 5

Incumbent Bob Good prevailed in this 80-percent Republican district that is wagged by its far-right wing tail. Less than 2,000 pre-registered delegates showed up at Saturday’s convention with the majority voting to put this Freedom Caucus member of Congress back on the ballot.

He will face Democratic candidate and Charlottesville resident Josh Throneburg.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
