Chuck Woolery can join the ranks of those who have been directly affected by the coronavirus.
Who is Chuck Woolery?
He’s a game show host from years past and a strong Trump supporter who tweeted earlier this week that medical professionals and Democrats were lying about coronavirus in the hopes of causing Trump’s defeat in November.
Just a quick observation: most people would take the word of health care providers over a game show host. But I digress….
Earlier this week a tweet Woolery wrote was picked up and retweeted by the president, as reported by The Hill:
“The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it,” Woolery wrote.
That was Monday. Fast forward to Wednesday when Woolery tweeted that his son had tested positive for Covid-19, again from The Hill:
Former game show host Chuck Woolery announced Wednesday his son has tested positive for COVID-19, just days after Woolery accused medical professionals and Democrats of lying about the virus in an effort to hurt the economy and President Trump ‘s reelection chances.
My family was visited by Covid-19 on April 24 when this vicious virus took the life of my step-dad. We were believers from the beginning of the pandemic and had taken precautions from the start but losing a family member put the reality right there in our lives.
Sadly, many deniers will not take it seriously until it hits close to home. As the virus continues its out of control march across this country, more and more are being directly affected, and the reality of that may be showing up in the latest poll about the president’s handling of Covid.
In the latest Washington Post-ABC poll out this morning, Americans appear to have soured on Trump’s handling of the pandemic with 60 percent disapproval and 38 percent approval. The Bulwark expands the discussion.
Meanwhile, wishing the best for Chuck Woolery’s son.
