Del. Kathy Byron Announces Run for Re-Election

She’s in!

Virginia House of Delegates member Kathy J. Byron announced Thursday on Facebook that she will be running for re-election for House District 22:

Since so many have been asking me if I am running…..

YES.

It is an honor to serve the people of the 22nd District. The citizens of Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, and Lynchburg know they can count on me to be a strong, consistent and unwavering voice to protect innocent human life, to defend their Second Amendment rights, and to promote our traditional values.

As the Republican woman with the most seniority in the General Assembly, I am proud of the consistent conservative record I have accumulated on life, on taxes, and on guns.

Working diligently to represent the needs of our region, I am one of the General Assembly’s foremost advocates for extending broadband, reducing regulation to encourage business growth and attract new businesses, and expanding workforce development.

I am also honored that my House Republican colleagues recognized my leadership by electing me to chair our caucus.

Although the borders of House districts for the 2021 elections have yet to be determined, I will be seeking reelection to continue my service to the people of our region and to fight for the conservative principles we hold dear.

First elected in 1997, Del. Byron serves as Vice-chairman of the House Commerce and Labor Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee and House Science and Technology Committee.

The 22nd House District includes parts of Bedford, Campbell, and Franklin counties as well as part of the City of Lynchburg.
