Homer: Violence Is Not the Answer
By Matt Homer
Violence is not the answer, nor the exploitation of violence for photo ops. We are better than this.
We desperately need steady and compassionate leadership.
President Trump, please, keep the lights on, turn down the rhetoric, and unite us.
We are the United States. Why is our first reaction to draw a line in the sand, pick a side, and demonize one another?
“You have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
I’ve heard the church talk about revival my whole life; this is not the way. Who is my neighbor? How should the church respond to this historical opportunity to show their love of God? Does our political religion express Biblical mandates?
Do we stop the violence with more violence? Yes, if we must, but where is the leadership?
Where is the church?
I’m all for 2a rights, but I’ve read more posts about how the AR-15 should respond than your well worn KJV.
