Y’all can go back to fighting about masks, COVID conspiracies, and Bill Gates now.
Sadly, the imaginary battles we construct are more vivid, pressing, and real than the ones that are actually worth fighting.
It’s easy to fight for a cause that fits neatly inside our prepacked political persuasions, real or not. The real ones cost us. Justice is expensive.
The imaginary one are comfortable, reassuring, and affirming.
This one deserves more than “thoughts and prayers,” Facebook outrage, and political punditry.
Don’t criticize until you’ve had to look over your shoulder based on the color of your skin.
