Mini-Tuesday

Early Wednesday results for Tuesday’s Democratic presidential primaries on Mini-Tuesday showed former Vice President Joe Biden had carried Mississippi, Missouri, Michigan, and Iowa, while votes continued to be counted in North Dakota and Washington. Bernie Sanders was the projected winner in North Dakota.

Joe Biden’s momentum that began in South Carolina continued as his delegate count increased heading toward next Tuesday’s round of states where 577 total delegates votes are available from Arizona, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio.

With a minimum of 1,991 delegates needed to win the nomination, Wednesday morning’s count stood at 836 for Biden and 686 for Sanders, numbers that will change as results continue to come in. Republicans are paying attention to see who will be the Democratic candidate to go up against Republican Donald Trump.

Count totals as of Wednesday morning:

-Mississippi: Biden 81%, Sanders 15% (36 delegates, 89% reporting) – Biden carried every county

-Michigan: Biden 53%, Sanders 36% (125 delegtes, 93% reporting) – Biden carried every county

-Missouri: Biden 60%, Sanders 35% (68 delegates, 95% reporting) – Biden carried every county

-Idaho: Biden 49%, Sanders 42% (20 delegates, 98% reporting)

-North Dakota: 53% Sanders, 40% Biden (14 delegates, 72% reporting)

-Washington (still undecided): Sanders 32.7%, Biden 32.5% (89 delegates, 69% reporting)
