An Assassination in Dallas 56 Years Ago

Last year Bearing Drift’s Rick Sincere, our colleague who passed away earlier this week, covered the anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on “The Score [1].” In a segment he wrote:

In anticipation of next week’s anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, I looked back at a special episode of The Score from last November 22. This is just an excerpt but you can hear the whole thing [2] posted on November 22, 2018..

In this brief excerpt, you will hear two eyewitnesses of the Kennedy assassination, Wesley Buell Frazier and Tina Towner Pender [3]. They spoke at the Virginia Film Festival [4] in 2013, just before the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination in Dallas.

(We did not realize Rick himself would be gone by the time this anniversary rolled around in 2019, and again are appreciative of all the hard work, time, and talent he put into the weekly radio show.)

In the National Archives [5] we find old photos of that day in Dallas and what occurred following the assassination of the President of the United States.

As generations pass, the shock of that day recedes into the dustbins of history. For some, however, it’s a memory that will never be erased.

President John F. Kennedy … one of the youngest when elected president at 43, PT boat commander during World War II, author of Profiles in Courage that won a Pulitzer Prize … assassinated at the age of 46.

Fifty-six years ago today….
