In a Washington Post profile of races where freshmen Northern Virginia Democratic Delegates are being challenged by strong Republican candidates, Delegate Elizabeth Guzman, lacking any standing on the issues, instead attacked her opponent D.J. Jordan over his race and color :
“His logo is blue. His literature doesn’t say he’s the Republican candidate in the race,” she said of Jordan. “You have to start by being honest and transparent.”
It’s unfortunate that Delegate Guzman can’t find anything else to run on. Meanwhile, Jordan is running hard on bread and butter issues that matter to voters in the the 31st District, earning the endorsement of the Virginia Police Benevolent Association and former Congressman Frank Wolf — and trusting that voters want to look beyond color and labels to judge a candidate.
