The 2019 General Assembly Session Has Adjourned Sine Die
They’re finished, at least for now. The 2019 session of the Virginia General Assembly finished business and adjourned Sunday, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
The Virginia General Assembly adjourned its scandal-marred session a day late Sunday after lawmakers backed revisions to the state’s two-year budget.
The 47-day session closed shortly before noon.
Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, who presides over the Senate, gave a closing speech in which he maintained his innocence against accusations of sexual assault and cautioned lawmakers against what he termed a rush to judgment.
