On Monday, I will be introducing articles of impeachment for Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax if he has not resigned before then.

Among growing calls for resignation from the Democratic party and a new allegation from a second woman against Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax (D), Democratic Delegate Patrick Hope (47th HoD) has indicated he may seek impeachment of the LG.
In a tweet Friday evening, Hope said he will be introducing articles of impeachment against Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax on Monday unless he has resigned by that time.

Earlier Friday, a joint statement was released from Virginia Democratic Representatives Abigail Spanberger, Don Beyer, Jennifer Wexton, Elaine Luria, and Gerry Connolly calling for Fairfax to step down as Lieutenant Governor.
Others joined in the call for Fairfax to resign.
The allegations against Justin Fairfax are serious and credible. It is clear to me that he can no longer effectively serve the people of Virginia as Lieutenant Governor. I call for his immediate resignation.

Given recent developments, I believe that it is best for the Commonwealth of Virginia if Justin Fairfax dealt with these accusations as a private citizen. He can no longer serve us as the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.
