Norfolk GOP Chair Resigning, Relocating to Va Beach

It has been a true honor to serve as Chairman of the Republican Party of Norfolk. I originally ran for chair to accomplish something, not have a title or receive a gold star on my name tag.

America is the greatest nation in the history of the earth and the principles that founded it must have defenders. Because the Trower name runs deep in Norfolk, I felt a personal duty to ensure the city had a functional Republican committee.

I am proud to say that since my first meeting as chairman in May we have grown from 13 members to 63. Our bank account was basically at zero and now we have several thousand dollars in the bank.

Last fall we held the Norfolk Seafood Social that was the talk of the town. We even had our first Christmas/Hanukkah Party supplied with eggnog and Santa himself!

The Norfolk Committee has possibly the most diverse group of members in regards to race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and, most importantly, political thought. We came one vote short of winning unit chairman of the year for the entire state at the December Republican Advance. We have 100% UNITY! We are friends. That is something to be proud of.

In my personal journey in life, I have found a house one block from the beach so will be moving in the near future and becoming a Virginia Beach voter. Therefore, I will be resigning as the chairman of the Norfolk GOP effective January 17th.

My final wish as chairman is that you remember your passionate sense of patriotism to stand up for those timeless American values enshrined by our founders. Ultimately that means working to grow our party’s influence. We must unite and put in the hard work and never give up.

Lastly, I want you to know that you are all valued friends. Your friendship and comradery mean a great deal to me and I truly value you for stepping up to make a difference. Your efforts have value and you are important. I have been so honored to serve as your chairman.

Your loyal and faithful friend,

Cole Trower
