Former Del. Joe May Wins Nomination for 33rd Senate District

Former Delegate Joe T. May won the Republican nomination to represent the 33rd District in the Senate of Virginia at a mass meeting held Sunday afternoon.

May, CEO and founder of Leesburg-based tech firm EIT, represented the 33rd District in the House of Delegates from 1994 through 2014. He will be the Republican nominee in the January 8, 2019, special election to fill the remainder of the term of Congresswoman-elect Jennifer T. Wexton (D-10th CD).

“Joe May has the experience and qualifications to be an effective senator from day one, and he is the best choice to represent the people of Loudoun and Fairfax in the Senate of Virginia,” said Senate Majority Leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. (R-James City).  “His extensive and intricate knowledge of transportation, technology, and business make him the clearly superior choice in this election.”

The 33rd District in the Senate of Virginia includes portions of Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.
