The U.S. House, currently with a Republican majority, will flip January 1, 2019, to a Democratic majority after Democrats gained 34 House seats (with seven still being counted) in the November 6 election.
On Wednesday Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy was elected 153-49 as the Minority Leader, defeating Jim Jordan.
