Rockbridge Area GOP Passes Resolution in Support of 6th District Chair Jennifer Brown

The Rockbridge Area Republican Committee passed a resolution this week to show their support of Sixth District Republican Chairwoman Jennifer Brown. It was a public display of confidence in her leadership after continued pushback from allies of the former chair, though she won 10 of the 17 units at May’s Sixth District Convention.

Here is the resolution passed on August 21:

Rockbridge Area Republican Committee: A Resolution of Support

Whereas,  the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee is located wholly within the Sixth Congressional District; and

Whereas, the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee is comprised of registered voters who reside  in the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista, and the County of Rockbridge; and

Whereas, the elected Chairperson of said Rockbridge Area Republican Committee is Doug Smith; and

Whereas, the elected Chairperson of said Sixth Congressional District Committee is Jennifer Brown; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the membership of the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee lends its full support and confidence in the actions taken by Doug Smith to unite, complement and support the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee to elect our candidates in the upcoming November 2018 elections; and, be it also

RESOLVED, that the membership of the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee lends its full support and confidence in the actions taken by Jennifer Brown to unite, complement and support the Sixth Congressional District and the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee to elect our candidates in the upcoming November 2018 elections; and, be it also

RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the Rockbridge Area Republican Committee is hereby directed to forward this resolution to the Sixth District Republican Committee, the State Central Committee and the Chairperson of the Republican Party of Virginia.
