Cole Trower Named New GOP Chair of Norfolk

The deadline to file to run as chairman of Norfolk City GOP passed Tuesday afternoon and, since no other candidates filed, Cole Trower has been declared the new chairman. The mass meeting scheduled later this month has been cancelled.

The official message was posted Tuesday afternoon by Tom Cherry, current chairman of the Norfolk Republican Committee:

The deadline has passed for Candidates for the Chairman of our committee. There was only one person who filed and paid the fee for Chairman.

In accordance with the call; Cole Trower will be our next Chairman and the mass meeting at the Masonic Lodge is cancelled. Please watch for emails concerning further updates.

Trower was campaigning in preparation for the election, and an article about him was published in Monday’s Bearing Drift (see Trower: Why I Am Running for Norfolk Republican Chairman). The post had been shared to Facebook 172 times.

Trower, 26, holds a degree in Public Administration from James Madison University. He lives in Norfolk where he owns a small business focusing on organizational consulting, and is active in Virginia Politics.
