March for Our Lives: ‘I Can’t Vote You Back in if I’m Dead’

Today in D.C.: No matter where you stand on the gun issue, the March for Our Lives [1] is bringing together students, teachers, parents, and others to Washington, D.C., and more than 800 other locations around the nation and the world. They will all take to the streets at Noon Eastern Daylight Time “to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end this epidemic of mass school shootings.”

The march was spearheaded by surviving students of the Parkland, Florida’s, Stoneman Douglas High School shooting [2] that occurred on Ash Wednesday / Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018, that resulted in the deaths of 17 students and 17 injured when the shooter opened fire with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Coverage of marches is being carried live on major cable outlets beginning at 8:00 a.m. Live-streaming is available here [3].

Update: Congressman John Lewis [4] who marched and spoke at the 1963 March on Washington at the age of 23 is marching today at the age of 78, surrounded by young people.
