Day 2: Virginia General Assembly Session

News comes fast and furious, or sometimes not, during the General Assembly. This will be updated throughout the day as we receive news to pass along in this even-year long session which means it will last two months (as opposed to 45 days during short sessions in odd-numbered years).

Updates are listed with most recent at the top.

Delegate Assignments to Virginia House Standing Committees from the House GOP Caucus. Some thoughts from our Bearing Drift think tank:

Rob Bell as chair of Courts and Justice (this is Dave Albo‘s old committee) will set him up for an Attorney General run in the future. Same with Greg Habeeb as his vice chair.

Ben Cline got himself a chairmanship — public safety — and gave up being vice chair of Finance. Guess he wants that feather in his cap for his Congressional run.
David Yancey got Transportation — guess they wanted to make sure he had a good slot for running for reelection next time.
