Sources close to the Trump Presidential Transition Team are saying that Congressman Randy Forbes of Virginia will likely be the next Secretary of the Navy to succeed Ray Mabus. This is not speculation that Forbes “might” be the next secretary, as we heard last week, but that this is pretty much a done deal. At the same time, until a formal announcement is made, this cannot yet be confirmed.
Forbes has been chairman of the House Seapower Subcommittee of the Armed Services Committee.
