I have to get to work and stayed up WAY too late last night, but initial reactions are congrats to Mr. Trump and let’s do the things we all think are important – secure America, manage our budget and debt, control immigration, make trade fair, protect the unborn, and more.
Here in the commonwealth…
1st – Rob Wittman (re-elected)
2nd – Scott Taylor
3rd – Bobby Scott (re-elected)
4th – Don McEachin – D-pickup
5th – Tom Garrett
6th – Bob Goodlatte (re-elected)
7th – Dave Brat (re-elected)
8th – Don Beyer (re-elected)
9th – Morgan Griffith (re-elected)
10th – Barbara Comstock (re-elected)
11th – Gerry Connolly (re-elected)
Democrats pick up one seat in Virginia, so we are now 7-4 as a GOP majority.
But the thing that really struck me is how blue we really are. On a night that Clinton was overwhelmingly defeated, it was northern Virginia that carried our state for her. There is some work to be done.
Additionally, Right to Work as a Constitutional Amendment Fails and Light Rail in Virginia Beach Fails. Mayor Sessoms re-elected.
