Hillary Wants to Create a National Database of Five Million Millennials

In a plan that’s sure to turn out to be meaningless, unfunded, and one of the worst of the Clinton campaign’s desperation to appeal to the critical 18-30 voting bloc, Hillary’s campaign announced their intent to enlist five million young Americans into a ‘National Service Reserve’.

This floating, volunteer, rudderless group would theoretically be called in to help respond to emergencies, natural disaster relief, helping the homeless, restoring local parks, and other areas of community service that currently have little to no volunteer support. *eye roll*

Of course, a government funded plan to create a monolithic bureaucracy in order to enlist and order 5 million young Americans to volunteer is a guaranteed failure. With areas of service already woefully underserved, Hillary Clinton (of course) thinks that government is what’s missing in order to establish a national volunteer database that will solve the ills of society. More government, more national databases, more paid government jobs to herd the hoards of millennials into mandated public service.

Now, creating a database of theoretically deployable volunteers may sound like a good idea on paper (outside of the government controlling that database), but what’s the carrot to the stick? More desperation attempts of placating millennials: guaranteed time off work (possibly paid), college credit (funded by the states of course), and a potential stipend, based on need. So to clarify, the federal government will tell private businesses what schedules their workers are available, will tell the states their colleges are required to offer credit for volunteer service, and use taxpayer money to fund volunteer paid service.

This is Clinton’s latest desperate attempt to reach out to millennials, and arguably her worst. Appearing on Zach Galifianakis spoof-talk show, Between Two Ferns, awkward appeals to Bernie Sanders’ primary voters, promises of free tuition, Clinton’s campaign is throwing everything but the kitchen sink in hopes of replicating just half of Obama’s appeal to millennials in either 2008 or 2012. This idea is just another in a campaign filled with bad ideas.

We’ve just been missing out on these actual policy discussions, substituting bombastic barbs, twitter storms, historic candidate dislike, and a plea for November 9th to be here as fast of possible. But as much as conservatives are saddled with a nearly un-winnable candidate, we’re facing a candidate who has put forth a number of BIG government policies and a commitment to further expand our already immense federal government.
