Scott Lee was out on assignment this week, which meant that I got to sit in the big chair again!

Joining me this week was Joe Thomas from the cool, crisp confines of the Wells Fargo Center in sunny Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention (note: this is sarcasm…it was anything but; hence, the hazy Philly photo accompanying this post). Joe, who’s the morning host in Charlottesville on WCHV, traveled also to the Republican National Convention and was able to give us an insiders look at how both conventions compared.

Later in the show, Matt Hall was our eyes on the scene in Roanoke for the recent Donald Trump rally and was able to catch up with Del. Greg Habeeb and State Sen. Tom Garrett.

Also on the show, Lynn Mitchell, Brian Schoeneman and Shaun Kenney discuss a wide array of subjects, including Hillary’s nomination and what it means, the pick of Tim Kaine for VP and what Sen. Mark Warner might be thinking, and the Supreme Court of Virginia decision regarding the restoration of felons civil rights and both the legal and political fallout of Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s response to use an “auto pen” to sign the executive reprieve.
