Hoeft Named Editor-In-Chief

Chesapeake, Va. – J.R. Hoeft, founder of BearingDrift.com, has been named editor-in-chief of Bearing Drift and managing partner of Virginia Line Media (VLM), LLC today.
 
Hoeft, who founded the website in 2004, succeeds Norman Leahy, creator of VLM’s radio program The Score, who has been serving as managing partner since 2013. Leahy will remain on the Board of Managers and continue to produce The Score and provide content for Bearing Drift.
 
“Norm has done an outstanding job of growing our brand and continuing to make VLM products the go-to sources for conservative news and information in the commonwealth,” said Hoeft. “Under his leadership, we have provided credible and timely information to our readers and listeners and have a strong foundation from which to build.”
 
VLM was created in 2011 when Bearing Drift and The Score merged.
 
“It’s been an incredible privilege to guide Bearing Drift over the last two years,” said Leahy. “Jim has always been our guiding force — he is Bearing Drift. And there’s no better person, no better journalist, than our founder to take us into the future. It’s going to be a very exciting time.”
 
Bearing Drift is viewed more than 100k times per month and The Score is syndicated on three radio stations throughout Virginia (WINC, WLEE, and WLNI), as well as on The Red State Talk Radio Network.
