The Washington Post is reporting [1] that State Sen. Dick Black is now on the list of “on notice” legislators targeted by the PAC Emily’s List (For more info, see previous BD post [2]).
According to WaPO, Black said:
“I am the only state legislator who has also been targeted by ISIS as well,” he said in a phone interview Tuesday. “I wear those as a badge of pride.”
This got the attention of our friends on Franklin Street.
In a Democratic Party of Virginia Press statement, they muse:
Dick Black is getting a lot of attention lately, and not the good kind. Today Emily’s List announced that the right-wing Loudoun senator has been placed “On Notice,” meaning he’s committed such egregious acts of terribleness that, for the first time ever, they’re adding a state legislator to their top-targets list.
Black responded in his typically out-of-touch fashion, comparing Emily’s List to… ISIS. Yes, really.
Dick Black: Come for the heinously offensive social views, stay for comparing a women’s group to an international terrorist organization.
Interesting. But I’m prone to agree with them. There is no comparison.
57+ million children have been aborted since Roe v. Wade [3].
ISIS hasn’t even come close to that level of genocide.
Shame on Dick Black for comparing the two.
