Emily’s list targets Comstock

EmilysList_Logo_stacked [1]The pro-abortion organization Emily’s List has declared Rep. Barbara Comstock “on notice” for the upcoming 2016 campaign.

Noting in their release that Comstock has taken such “anti-Family measures” as voting “for a bill that would prohibit abortions in cases where the probable age of the fetus is 20 weeks or later and would impose criminal penalties on doctors who violate the ban,” supporting the requirement that women see the images that abortion doctors are using when conducting their abortions (an ultrasound procedure advocated by Planned Parenthood, etc. – they just don’t want mothers to see the pictures), and, ~gasp~, actually wanting to overturn Roe v. Wade!

According to the PAC, “On Notice” is a list of incumbent Republicans at all levels of government who will be held accountable for their anti-woman, anti-family records in the 2016 elections.

Of course, what I found strange in the whole release is that only 80 Republicans make the cut. Shouldn’t all of them be on this list? If it’s only the 80 they find most threatening to their “cause”, then this is a banner day for Comstock.

Fun facts:

Compare the DCCC “One-Term Wonder [2]” List with the “On Notice [3]” List. Look similar?

No Democrat (in decades) has received greater than 41 percent of the vote in the 10CD. (SBE [4])…and Comstock won handily over Foust by more than 16 points (with majorities in both the women and men’s vote).

Fun observation:

Why just target Barbara? Is Emily’s List sexist? Where are other Virginia social conservatives, like Rep. Randy Forbes? (Jason Kenney has more context [5].)
