Need Evidence of Media Bias? Check Out the Washington Post’s Comments Section…

Jackson keeps GOP establishment at arm's length in Va. lieutenant governor campaign - The Washington Post

Want to see some media bias?  You can’t deny this one…

The Washington Post did a story awhile back pointing at the infighting within the Jackson campaign.  Fair enough, no worries.

But go check out the comments section.  What three comments do you see?  These three right here.  I mean, Terry McAuliffe couldn’t have picked these better himself.

…but if you go into the other 940 comments, these three comments aren’t even close to the top.

So… who at the Washington Post decided that the viewing public should see these three comments?  Moreover, who really wrote them seeing as they are all pseudonyms?  Voters?  McAuliffe staffers?

Folks, when you have someone embedded at the Washington Post who gets to decide what comments are pinned and which are not, and you get this sort right here as editorial commentary?  Well… it kinda drives home the point that media bias is alive and well among the editors and IT staff at the Washington Post, doesn’t it?

From the Washington Post comments disclaimer…

UPDATE:  Of course, in the comments section there’s some dispute as to whether the disclaimer above is the arbiter of what gets pinned, and whether it’s simply what is most favored by whichever camp — liberal or conservative — and let the chips fall where they may.

In which case, here’s your winner…

…and that’s not something I would go around thumping my chest about.  As quoted from an observer:

If Waldo is trying to argue that the WaPo policy doesn’t apply to what you’re seeing comment wise, then what it DOES apply to (top comments tab) is much worse…

Ouch.
