Scott Rasmussen has taken his first reading [1] of the Virginia gubernatorial race and finds that among likely voters, Terry McAuliffe has a three-point lead over Ken Cuccinelli (right at the edge of the poll’s three-point margin of error).
The poll was conducted from June 5th and 6th, so the numbers reflect a few weeks worth of Democrats using E.W. Jackson as a club against Cuccinelli. It does not appear that Cuccinelli’s numbers have suffered. But there are still months to go and millions of dollars to spend…so the numbers will change.
Or it could mean we might actually be on the brink of having issues dropped into the race. Now wouldn’t that be something?
