It’s a bad day on Capitol Hill for AG Eric Holder, who would prefer to answer the question on whether the NSA scooped-up congressional phone data via Verizon in closed session:

The correct answer is, indeed, “no.”

Now that Congress appears to have concerns about the national security apparatus secretly gathering mountains personal information, perhaps it will revisit its decision to give the executive branch such powers. While this would require a degree of introspection usually beyond the powers of mere politicians, one can still hope, right?
