I make it a habit not to watch the annual throne speech State of the Union message, or the pettifogging rebuttals from the opposition party. This year, though, I did catch the somewhat novel third party reply from Sen. Rand Paul. It was not the best speech in the world, but it had the unique benefit of telling some basic truths.
