Cantor’s effort at a new Republican message

House majority leader Eric Cantor has been on a mission this week to recast the Republican image as one that wants to “make life work.” It’s not the first time the GOP has undergone a period of messaging reform, and it will not be the last. However, in the interview with Larry Kudlow, we get some of the high points of this latest approach to making the Republican Party less scary. They are sure to set off dog whistles across the country:

  • I listened to Cantor’s proposals and they sound indistinguishable from Romneyism.

Cantor apparently doesn’t have any sort of guiding principles, because his proposals are as split-the-baby as they come.

If you need some good ideas for how the GOP can win future elections Eric, run over to Justin Amash’s office and he will be happy to inform you.
