Feinstein’s list of guns to be banned

California Sen. Diane Feinstein has introduced the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2013” and, quite helpfully, has provided a list of the weapons she and her colleagues want to see eliminated from the marketplace. Here’s the image, via the Daily Caller. Check it against what you happen to have in your gun safe:

Looks like someone has mad Google skills!

  • Banning a VEPR? This looks more like a ban on certain firms rather than certain firearms…

Many of these weapons are pure sporting rifles, except for the ability to load a high capacity magazine. As usual, the gun-grabbers are over-reaching and this proposal will never see the light of day. Ditzy Dianne is doing all gun owners a favor, not to mention forcing 20 Democratic senators up for reelection in 2014 to take a very unpopular damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don’t position on an emotional issue.

I suspect that she is relying on polls that show that a majority of voters want more gun control. Those polls are accurate, but when you ask the second tier questions, such as do you favor a ban on the weapon you own, the poll results suddenly reverse. As the old saying goes, everyone wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die to get there.

  • Couldn’t the manufacturers circumvent a law like this by changing the names of their products?

    • MD Russ

i like it. They could call the Bushmaster .223 the Have-A-Nice-Day .223.

Ditzy Dianne should not call this list assault weapons. She should name them after San Francisco and call them Granola Guns. (Flakes, nuts, and fruits.)
