Frey drops AG bid

John Frey, clerk of the Fairfax county circuit court, has decided to end his bid for the Republican Attorney General nomination. From the press release:

After a lot of reflection and discussions with my family, I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for the Republican nomination for Attorney General of Virginia. Both of my opponents have been campaigning statewide for significantly longer than I have. They have used that extra time well, and should be commended.

I am grateful for the opportunity I had to travel across this great Commonwealth and meet so many wonderful people. I want to thank all my supporters for their encouragement and friendship.

The opponents Frey alludes to are Del. Rob Bell and Sen. Mark Obenshain.
