Friday Whine and Cheese: The Nation Needs a Big Dose of Ritalin

In a world where things made sense and the mainstream media was actually concerned about news rather than worshipping at the feet of Barack Obama, last week’s news would have doomed the Obama Presidency.

Instead, it’s like the entire country has A.D.H.D.

Last week:

– We were attacked

– We had warning

– But the President ignored his daily security briefings both before and after the attack

– They tried to blame a video

– The President went to a fundraiser in Las Vegas

– But was too busy to meet with Netanyahu

But, what did we focus on? Mitt Romney’s Twitter account.

No, seriously, this is a White House photo. If only Netanyahu spoke Pirate.

This week:

– The State Department and White House finally admit it was a terrorist attack

– The President goes on Letterman, where he couldn’t even remember the amount of the national debt

– The President parties with Beyonce and Jay-Z

– And celebrates Talk Like a Pirate Day

.
But what did the media focus on? An obscure double-secret-probation tape of Mitt Romney speaking candidly with donors.

Apparently, Jimmy Carter’s grandson urged the videographer to release the Romney tape.

Look sonny, we know you don’t remember Gramp’s Presidency because you were running around the White House with your drawers full of messes much like your granddad’s foreign policy.

But if you have some misguided notion that this tape is going to redeem your grandpa’s legacy, give it a rest. The best you can hope for is that the footnote in his Presidential biography is edited from “the worst President in modern history” to “one of the worst Presidents in modern history.”

Trust us. We lived through the Carter Administration. It sucked.

I digress. Much like the main stream media and the Obama campaign are digressing with the real issues. Only in their case it’s intentional.

Seriously, don’t think this is all by accident. This is a coordinated effort. For example, The Daily Caller reports that Dozens of pages of emails between DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler and Media Matters staffers show Schmaler, Holder’s top press defender, working with Media Matters to attack reporters covering DOJ scandals.

The truth about Benghazi, if we ever really get it, will be far more damaging than Fast and Furious. But both should be enough to kick this Administration back to Chicago.

The world is on fire, and the empty chair is in charge.

Michelle Malkin nailed it earlier this week when she said:

Democrats need to change their party mascot from the donkey to the squirrel. They divert the media and the electorate’s short attention spans with fleeting, fuzzy objects — like the talking dog in the animated Pixar movie “Up,” who was easily distracted from his main thoughts and serious duties by every last little, moving trifle.

Unfortunately, the squirrel is what gets the attention of the American electorate.

Face it when Honey Boo Boo gets more viewers than Mitt Romney or Bill Clinton, we’re in trouble.

Granted, in the world of pageantry, the entire Boo Boo family is more articulate than the reigning Miss Vice President.

But, once again, I digress.
