Late afternoon descends on radio row and I had the opportunity to talk to former Lt. Gov. John Hager — a great treat on an extremely busy day.
We took a slightly different tack in our discussion. We explored the utility of political conventions (this is Hager’s eighth), the long term effects, if any, of the rules fight on the Republican party, and the general health of the Republican Party of Virginia. We also explored whether Virginia Democrats have abandoned the policies and positions that once made them so successful in Virginia, and what their prospects are if they insist on reading from the same script as their national cousins.
