Friday Whine and Cheese: My baloney has a last name it’s O-B-A-M-A

[1]

Earlier this week, the Presidential campaign devolved into name calling with Barack Obama saying that Mitt Romney’s plan amounted to “Robin Hood in reverse,” calling it “Romney Hood.”

Neener Neener Boo Boo.

Maybe growing up in Indonesia Barack Obama never heard the real story of Robin Hood. Because, like so many other things in his career, he got it wrong. Or at least he had to twist it to fit his purposes.

I don’t know who told the President to bow to every foreign dignitary, or who suggested he give the Queen an iPod (not to mention toasting her during “God Save the Queen.”). But now, he even gets Robin Hood wrong. Maybe the next time the send out another $3 fundraising email they should up it to the cost of a Netflix subscription.

Here’s a clue guys. Robin Hood is the good guy. He takes from the oppressive rich government and gives it back to the people they took it from in the first place.

No wonder it’s a foreign concept to the President.

Romney was quick to respond with a quip of his own.

“If I were to coin a term, it would be ‘Obamaloney.’ He’s serving up a dish which is, simply, in contradiction of the truth, and it relates to everything from how I’m going to help the middle class to tax policy. He’s just simply saying things that are not accurate.”

Pretty clever. And a pretty accurate description. You have to wonder how long that’s been stored in the vault.

In the mean time, on Tuesday the pro-Barack Obama super PAC Priorities USA released an add that basically said Mitt Romney was a cancer causing murderer.

But here’s the thing:

The former steel worker featured in the ad Joe Soptic, said that it was Mitt Romney’s fault that GST Steel went belly up in 2001 and his wife lost [3]health insurance coverage.. Of course Romney left Bain in 1999 to go work on the Winter Olympics. Soptic has admitted, however, that when he lost his GST job, his wife was still working and carried her own heatlh insurance. She lost that in 2002/2003 when she was forced to leave her job due to an injury. Oh, and by the way, Soptic later admitted that Bain Capital offered him a buyout before the plant closed in 2001.

But, seriously. Is this the kind of “substantive” campaigning we’re going to see througout the fall?

With all due respect to the President and the Governor, recess is over.

Meanwhile Harry Reid [4] continues with the lie about Mitt Romney not paying taxes. Even The Washington Post [5] calls him out: Reid also has made no effort to explain why his unnamed source would be credible. So, in the absence of more information, it appears he has no basis to make his incendiary claim.

“And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were…More than I named and I could hear them say: ‘At last we have a seat at the table,” Pelosi said of her visit to the Bush White House after being named Speaker.
And, across the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi is hanging out with ghosts. Or at least she says their spirits visited her while she was in the Bush White House. We’re reminded that back in 2008, Barack Obama had to apologize [7] to Nancy Reagan for making a seance joke.

Funny thing is, Hillary Clinton used to talk to Eleanor Roosevelt. But I guess Eleanor wasn’t interested in contacting Ms. Pelosi.

These people are running our country.

If the ghost of Susan B. Anthony doesn’t frighten you into needing a fresh pair of drawers, these people certainly should.
