Friday Whine and Cheese: Tasty, Tasty Free Speech

[1]
H/T A.F. Branco at Conservative Daily News [2]

It was never about a chicken sandwich.

But on Wednesday, thousands of Americans stood in lines across the country for just that. In response to the left-wing attack on Chick-fil-a which such luminaries as Roseanne Barr saying that they hoped conservatives would “eat that **** and get cancer,” thousands of Americans, young, old, and yes gay and straight, participated in Chick-fil-A appreciation day.

Let’s just say, enough with the witch hunts already. If you like the food Chick-fil-A serves (without discrimination, I might add), then enjoy it. If [3] you like Starbucks, then enjoy it.

And let’s, when we talk about tolerance, really start being tolerant rather than saying that tolerance is all about you agreeing with me. After all, that’s what the attack against Chick-fil-A was all about. The Christian owner of a successful company built on and managed by Christian principles was asked what he thought, and he answered honestly.

The left couldn’t stand that and they launched their attacks. And it backfired. Big time.

Not only did Chick-fil-A set worldwide sales records [4] on Wednesday, that little weasel that filmed himself being verbally abusive to a young, very polite and very composed, teenage Chick-fil-A employee, lost his job [5].

That Karma, she’s such a b…..

But think about it. Perhaps one of the greatest displays of public activism in our lifetime. It was nationwide. It was peaceful. It was huge.

No tear gas. No drums. No pooping on cop cars.

If there is a downside to what happened in defense of Chick-fil-A, it’s that so many people were willing to stand in line longer for a chicken sandwich than they are willing to do to vote. And that’s a shame.

But while the rally for free speech was great, let’s not forget crippling unemployment and a multi-trillion dollar debt.

Oh, and the HHS Mandate kicked in.

Survivor: Vice President Addition

From CNN via Jim Geraghty’s morning Jolt: Jim Acosta of CNN reports, “Joining Romney Thursday in Colorado: Governors Brewer, Jindal, Christie, Martinez, Fallin, Haley, Perry, Herbert, McDonnell.”

So, who gets voted off the island?

Finally, we wrote earlier this week [7] that Senator Louise Lucas wants to bring casino gambling to the Commonwealth…actually to her little corner of the Commonwealth.

Of course, we know that what happens in Portsmouth stays in Portsmouth.

Except, that is, this exclusive footage of the Senator’s pre-legislative days.

Suddenly, the hankering for casinos makes more sense.

And don’t forget, Saturday is President Obama’s birthday. The RNC has made it easy for you to send him a card [8].
