The U.S. unemployment rate has now been above 8% for 41 months. That’s the longest sustained streak since the Great Depression.
Barack Obama, who came in promising to fix the economy or be a one term President, has been in office 40 out of those 41 months.
And his response? Brian Schoeneman had the details on Tuesday. Basically the President has said over and over and over…
“Therefore, it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report…”
How much can we read into 41 consecutive reports?
It was Joseph Goebbels who said “If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. ”
Or maybe it was Vladimir Lenin who said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz loves attacking her some Republicans. So she’s recently been out attacking Mitt Romney for holding money in Swiss bank accounts.
She said on Fox News Sunday that “Americans need to ask themselves, why does an American businesman need a Swiss bank account and secretive investments like that?…Just something, a thought that I’d like to leave folks with.”
Why indeed, Debbie? After all you should know.
As it turns out disclosure forms show that Wasserman Schultz has done some Swiss investing of her own.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Well, except for the fact that this is a classic case of “Do as I say, not as I do.”
