On June 25, 1788, the commonwealth became the tenth state to ratify the US Constitution by a vote of 89-79.
On June 21, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify, thereby putting the US Constitution into effect.
So, happy birthday, Virginia. Or, as you all know my preference, “Happy Virginia Heritage Day!”
