Budget conferees try to get ahead of the game

Well. At least 24 hours.

I guess it’s better than nothing. Apparently the big news form Capitol Square today is that all General Assembly members will have at least 24 hours to review the final budget conference report before voting on it.

Whew!

It’s nice to know that our legislators will get a whole 24 hours to look at where $41,693,676,233 will be going in 2013 and $43,168,668,528 in 2014.

Also, it’s nice to have a little bit of harmony up in Richmond for a change as the conferees will start negotiation and discussion “earlier in the process to identify areas of agreement and disagreement as early as possible,” a source tells BD.
