Politico: Warner not ‘going over well’ with Democrats

Sen. Mark Warner appears [1] to be in trouble with his own party, as he made frustrated comments that apparently did not portray the Democratic caucus in the best light.

Mr. Warner blamed the Tea Party for gridlock on Capitol Hill. Nothing new [2]there, I suppose, but he also lamented that there are only “six or eight people” on the Hill who make the decisions.

I realize an argument could be made for the Tea Party controlling leadership in the House (although I seriously doubt it more and more); but is Warner saying that this grassroots movement also has its grips on the Senate, who has not passed a budget in years [3], and who is deliberately delaying putting any sort of parliamentary procedure toward Obama’s precious Jobs bill? Is the Senate’s legislative lethargy [4] the result of a clandestine operation by the Tea Party, who has bribed these lawmakers into sloth in order to foment their ultimate goal of anarchy and governmental collapse? This is the stuff of thriller novels…. Or Mr. Warner is simply desperate for attention.
