Del. Iaquinto gains a Chairmanship

Del. Sal Iaquinto of Virginia Beach was appointed Chairman of the Civil Law Subcommittee of the House Courts of Justice Committee. Iaquinto also serves as a subcommittee Chairman of the General Laws Committee. Iaquinto’s 15 years of legal experience will be a great benefit to the Commonwealth in this role.

“Sal’s experience and understanding of the court system is an invaluable asset in this important role,” explained Courts of Justice Committee chairman Del. Dave Albo, who noted that the Civil Law subcommittee is a particularly influential body, generally hearing more bills during session than the next largest full committee. “Sal has a reputation as a subcommittee chairman of running fair, efficient, and well-informed hearings. He asks the right questions. I think he’ll do a great job in this new position.”

“I’m honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” added Delegate Iaquinto. “It will be a challenging job, but I’m ready for it.”

Iaquinto is unopposed for re-election in the 84th District, the district once held by popular Governor and rumored VP possibility Bob McDonnell.
