Newt Gingrich’s campaign manager and numerous other key aides have resigned together . . . .

Ginrgrich press spokesman Rick Tyler told The Associated Press that he’s resigned along with campaign manager Rob Johnson, senior strategists and aides in key early primary states.

The back-story on this one ought to be interesting . . . .

UPDATE: Newt’s national co-chair, former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, has joined the Pawlenty campaign [3] in an as-yet undefined role.

UPDATE: National Review [4] joins J.R. [5] (below) in predicting that most of the Gingrich campaign staff that took flight today will be going to work for Texas Governor Rick Perry, whom they predict will enter the race soon.
