Ken Vaughn now in 11th District; seeking GOP nod to take on Connolly

[1]
Ken Vaughn, Congressional Candidate
Ken Vaughn [2], who previously was set to challenge [3] longtime Republican incumbent Congressman Frank Wolf in Virginia’s 10th District, has been redistricted into the 11th District and remains a candidate.

Vaughn, a traffic engineer by trade, became active in politics in 2008 following the financial crisis and is actively supported by the Tea Party.

The 11th District is currently represented by Democrat Gerry Connolly who narrowly defeated [4] Republican Keith Fimian in 2010 by less than a thousand votes.

Fimian and Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity sparred for the Republican nomination for the right to take on Connolly in the last election, but neither has indicated that they might be entering the race. Vaughn’s campaign tells Bearing Drift that they have spoken with both former candidates and it is their understanding that neither Fimian nor Herrity will be running.

Vaughn is currently the only declared candidate.
