I’m getting fairly sick of the media spin about the Republicans in Congress being at fault if there is a government shutdown.
Any shutdown is the DEMOCRATS’ fault.
Completely. Exclusively. Totally.
The only reason we even have these temporary spending “continuing resolutions” at all is because we are 7 months into the fiscal year WITHOUT A BUDGET!
The Democrats, who ran the House, Senate and White House every minute of 2010, never passed a 2011 budget.
Had the Democrats done their job, pass a budget, we’d be coasting merrily along and working on passing a budget for 2012. Instead, since they FAILED at that job, we are governing by temporary spending extensions which are, ta da!, temporary.
Any shutdown is because the federal government has no budget, and hasn’t had one for nearly seven months, and that is exclusively the Democrats’ fault.
