Orlando Sentinel reporter Scott Powers was detained in a closet prior to a snooty fundraiser for Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson. A “low level staffer” put Powers in the closet because Vice President Joe Biden hadn’t yet arrived.
Rather than have Powers mingle with the 150 guests who paid a minimum of $500 to attend, Biden’s staff directed him to a closet. With a bottle of water.
Powers emailed a picture of his prison to his editors who noted it on their blog [2].
This type of thing nearly brought down the Presidency of David Palmer on the second season of 24. Although in Palmer’s case, he was trying to prevent panic over the presense of a nuclear bomb in L.A.
