J.R. interviews former U.S. Senator and Virginia Governor George Allen [2].
Allen announced this morning to supporters [3] his intention to seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate again in 2012 and gives Bearing Drift the first online interview. He answers:
1) Why does he feel that the Senate is the best place for him to serve?
2) What lessons did he take from that 2006 campaign that will influence the upcoming one? (He addresses ‘macaca’ directly)
3) Is he conservative enough for the Tea Party?
4) How important will the social conservative movement be to his campaign, given that fiscal issues, such as job creation and the debt have dominated recent campaigns?
