That was an eye-opener

The New York Knicks gave up 69 points to the San Antonio Spurs – in the first half . . . and they were leading by three.

All five Spurs starters were in double-digits, and Greg Popovich sat them down with three minutes to go, effectively saying his team couldn’t close a ten-point gap.

In the end, the Spurs scored 115 points, shooting 54% from the floor – that’s 54%, mind you – and lost the game by double-digits.

If the Knicks can score like this, they can beat anybody on any night (beating certain teams for four nights out of seven is an entirely different matter).
